Chapter 5: Talents (Groups 6-8, 9-12 are coming)

 


Version: 0.7 (bare bones WIP)

Notes: Mostly generic defense-boosting talents, but I tried to include a few unique ones to show what's coming. Didn't want to wait with these until too late.

Group 6 Resilient (Physical)

Toughness, stamina, and resistance to damage and environmental effects.

Tier 1

Endurance I OK

·         Description: The character has developed the stamina needed to endure long battles or harsh environments.

·         Effect: Gain +6 to maximum Stamina.

Resilient I OK

Description: The character’s body has become hardened, reducing damage from non-magical physical sources.

Effect: Gain +2 to Resilience defense

Second Wind OK

·         Description: The character can recover stamina or health in the midst of battle.

·         Effect: Once per Short Rest, recover 6 Stamina or 4 Health as a Minor action.

Toughness I OK

·         Description: The character’s body has adapted to absorb more punishment, increasing survivability in combat.

·         Effect: Gain +4 to maximum Health.

Tier 2

Adrenaline Surge OK

·         Description: The character can tap into a rush of adrenaline, gaining bonuses for a short burst of action.

·         Effect: Once per Short Rest, gain Advantage on all combat-related rolls for one round.

Endurance II OK

·         Description: The character has developed the stamina needed to endure long battles or harsh environments.

·         Effect: Gain +6 to maximum Stamina.

Iron Jaw

·         Description: The character’s physical resilience allows them to shrug off knockout effects and stunning blows.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on checks to resist knockout effects or being Stunned. If you are Stunned, reduce the duration of the effect by 1 round.

Resilient II OK

·         Description: The character’s body has become hardened, reducing damage from non-magical physical sources.

·         Effect: Gain +2 to Resilience defense

·         Description: The character’s body has adapted to absorb more punishment, increasing survivability in combat.

·         Effect: Gain +4 to maximum Health.

Tier 3

·         Description: The character has developed the stamina needed to endure long battles or harsh environments.

·         Effect: Gain +6 to maximum Stamina.

Resilient III OK

Description: The character’s body has become hardened, reducing damage from non-magical physical sources.

Effect: Gain +2 to Resilience defense

·         Description: The character’s body has adapted to absorb more punishment, increasing survivability in combat.

Effect: Gain +4 to maximum Health.

Tier 4

Tier 5

Group 7 Disciplined (Mental)

Resisting mental effects such as fear, intimidation, mind control, and psychological stress.

Tier 1 Talents

Disciplined I

·         Description: The character has mastered their mental faculties, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Discipline defense.

Tier 2 Talents

Disciplined II

·         Description: The character has mastered their mental faculties, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Discipline defense.

Tier 3 Talents

Disciplined III

·         Description: The character has mastered their mental faculties, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Discipline defense.

Steadfast

·         Description: The character is immune to feelings of despair and fights harder when the odds are against them.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on all checks when facing overwhelming odds (3 to 1 with each enemy being your own tier).

Tier 4 Talents

Fearless

·         Description: The character is completely immune to fear.

·         Effect: Gain immunity to all fear-based effects.

Tier 5 Talents

Terrifying

·         Description:

·         Effect: You cause fear in creatures that oppose you.

Group 8 Composed (Social)

Specializes in social manipulation, persuasion, leadership, and deception in both combat and non-combat situations.

Tier 1

Charismatic OK

·         Description: The character exudes charm.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on Charm checks.

Composed I OK

·         Description: The character has mastered their emotions, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Composure defense.

Empathic OK

·         Description: The character has a keen ability to read emotions.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on Insight checks.

Manipulator OK

·         Description: The character is skilled at lying and maintaining a convincing facade.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on Deception checks.

Natural Leader OK

·         Description: The character can easily inspire or influence allies.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on Leadership checks.

Tier 2

Composed II OK

·         Description: The character has mastered their emotions, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Composure defense.

Tier 3

Commanding Presence

·         Description: The character’s presence can sway public opinion or influence large crowds.

·         Effect: Gain Advantage on Social checks when addressing a crowd.

Composed III OK

·         Description: The character has mastered their emotions, making them difficult to manipulate.

·         Effect: Gain +2 Composure defense.
